How Often Should I Be Tested?
Ideally all men should establish a healthy youthful baseline AndroCHECK in their early twenties when they are experiencing no or minimum symptoms related to decreased testosterone. Afterwards periodic checks every five years would be sufficient to monitor changes with age. It is also recommended that you use AndroCHECK as soon as you begin to experience signs of hormonal imbalance, prior to starting an hormonal therapy program as well as after therapy to monitor the progress.
It is also important to wait at least a month after initiation or change in supplement of hormones before assaying steroid levels. This wait allows time for the induction of binding globulins and the reaching of steady state. And while testing suggests that the oral prohormones are out of the system within a few hours. I recommend that you wait a few days until you take the saliva test to get a true non-rebound or suppressed baseline.
What are the age reference ranges for testosterone?
As a lab these are the reported "normals". I believe we should aim for an "ideal range" such as "30 y/o male" in individuals who have healthy enough metabolisms to support such high testosterones.

Can I test my hormones while I am using Norandro prohormones?

Why Saliva?
Over the past 20 years numerous research studies have validated the use of saliva as a method of measuring the biologically active fraction of steroid hormones in the blood stream. And with the recent availability of saliva steroid hormone testing, the medical community has rapidly begun to accept saliva as the PREFERRED method for steroid hormone testing.
Saliva is an excellent medium to measure hormones because it is a natural ultra-filtrate of the blood. This means that the biologically active hormones, those not bound to protein in the blood, freely diffuse into the saliva. Only 1-10% of the hormones in the blood is unbound or "free form," and it is this fraction that stimulates target tissues and is found in the saliva. The majority of hormones is bound to carrier proteins and is unavailable to target tissues. In fact, not only do testosterone levels decline with age, but SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin, the carrier protein for testosterone) increases with age and reduces the levels of free testosterone even further.
